A variety of projects, large and small, short- and long-term, are planned for the future of Henteleff Park. All are part of the long-term vision that make up the Stewardship Program for the park, which includes vegetation management, wildlife observations, community gardens, programming and special events, management in conjunction with the Friends of Henteleff Park, and other opportunities for regular community involvement in the park.
- establishment of Tall Grass Prairie meadow and native flowers
- development of a market/community garden
- development of plans for an arboretum
- restoring the remnant forest
- expansion of forest along the Red River to complete a minimum 30 metre buffer
- continued maintenance of young tree plantings including watering, weeding and
- protection from deer and beaver
- development of new trails in the riparian forest and along the south property line
- construction of a pedestrian crossing at the mouth of Normand Creek.
- integration of the park’s trails with South Winnipeg Parkway
- maintenance of existing hiking and skiing trails
- removal of harmful debris from Normand Creek’s banks
- re-vegetation of the banks where enhancement projects have been undertaken
- stabilization and re-vegetation of the creek bank where slumping has occurred
- repair of the blocked culvert at Normand Road to improve flows to the creek from development south of the park
